Key Responsibilities at Onway Trucking
As a driver with Onway Trucking, your role will include a wide range of tasks to ensure efficient and safe transport:
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks
- Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Monitor and maintain vehicle equipment such as brakes, tires, and lights
- Conduct emergency roadside repairs when needed
- Carry out brake adjustments and preventive maintenance
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and logistics teams
- Accurately record cargo details, hours of service, fuel usage, and trip distance
- Tarp and secure cargo to ensure its safety during transit
Working Conditions and Requirements
Education & Training:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent
- On-the-job training provided (prior driving experience required)
Licences & Credentials:
- Valid Canadian driver’s licence
- Clean driving abstract
- Criminal record check
- Medical exam required
Physical & Personal Attributes:
