Mpower who are the organisers of the Chase Your Dream scholarship has officially announced that the next round of the scholarship has officially commenced and invites anyone who will be interested in this scholarship to go ahead now and apply.
The MPOWER scholarship is available to graduate students worldwide who hold Chinese citizenship and are either admitted to or enrolled in a full-time degree program at a U.S. or Canadian school supported by MPOWER.
MPOWER Financing was founded in 2014 by two former international students, Manu Smadja and Mike Davis, who shared a common goal: to alleviate the financial challenges that students often encounter when pursuing studies abroad.

Requirements For Chase Your Dream Scholarship
Eligible Countries: China
Acceptable Course or Subjects: This scholarship is open to students pursuing studies in any field or industry.
Admissible Criteria: To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Applicants must be legally allowed to study in either the United States or Canada:
- For those planning to study in the USA: Applicants must possess a valid visa that permits studying in the United States, or they must hold U.S. permanent residency (Green Card holder) status.
- For those intending to study in Canada: Applicants must hold a valid Canadian study permit.
This opportunity is available to students from China who aspire to pursue their education in either the United States or Canada. Regardless of the field or industry they wish to study, all applicants from China are encouraged to apply for this scholarship.
To be considered, applicants must ensure they meet the legal requirements to study in their chosen country. This includes having the necessary visa or residency status in the USA or a valid Canadian study permit if planning to study in Canada.

How To Apply

Below is the step-by-step guide on how to apply;
All eligible students must complete the application form and submit an essay.
Supporting Documents: Write an essay answering the following question in 200-500 words: How does your cultural background influence your educational journey and/or professional goals, and how will your graduate degree enable you to make a difference in your field?
Admission Requirements: Applicants must have their visa stamped in their passport by the closing date of the competition.
Language Requirement: Proficiency in the English language is necessary for studying in the USA and Canada.
Benefits
Scholarships are given out each year to international students, as well as DACA students, who are enrolled at institutions supported by MPOWER. The awards are distributed as follows:
- Grand Prize: $5,000 (1 recipient)
- Runner-Up: $1,500 (1 recipient)
- Honorable Mention: $500 each (2 recipients)
How Will Winner Be Selected
Winners will be chosen solely based on their submitted essays. MPOWER Financing will initially pick 10 finalists for further review, from which the winners will be selected. The final decision rests with MPOWER.
Upon receiving the scholarship, the winner must provide MPOWER with (1) a statement about winning the contest, (2) a headshot, and (3) a brief video summarizing their essay and the winning statement.
How Will The Winners Receive Scholarship Funds
After MPOWER selects the winners, they will check if they meet the eligibility criteria. Once verified, all winners will receive a Release document.
After MPOWER receives the signed Release from a winner, they will send the scholarship funds directly to the winner’s college or university.
This process follows the rules of U.S. or Canadian laws. If a winner cannot be verified or doesn’t sign the Release, they will lose their eligibility, and MPOWER will choose another winner to replace them.
Period For The Scholarship
The Scholarship lasts until June 30, 2024. Only entries submitted during this time will be considered. MPOWER is responsible for deciding who is eligible for the Scholarship.
During the Scholarship period, four winners will be chosen. The top winner gets a $5,000 scholarship to help with school costs. Another winner gets $1,500, and two more winners get $500 each. Students can only enter the Scholarship once.
Right To Modify and Cancel
If any part of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, it won’t affect the rest of the Terms. Even if one part isn’t valid, the rest still apply as if nothing happened.
MPOWER can still enforce any other parts of the Terms. MPOWER can change or cancel the Scholarship if they think it’s not working as intended or if there are mistakes, errors, or other problems beyond their control that might affect it. Good Luck
